About us

Our History

DREAM is an international company in the field of dedicated software and services. Our company provides technical expertise in petroleum engineering for the characterization and operation of gas and oil reservoirs around the world. The concept of DREAM was conceived by a group of researchers from Politecnico di Torino together with technicians already active in the petroleum industry who foresaw the entrepreneurial potential of their abilities combined. In fact, DREAM was the first spin-off of Politecnico di Torino. Over the last decade, DREAM experts have successfully worked together in research and development of both theoretical studies and industrial applications. DREAM has become a trusted partner to interpret and manage static and dynamic data and determine the best development strategy for each hydrocarbon reservoir.

We at DREAM have pledged to stay true to ourselves no matter how global we grow because only so can we provide our clients with the kind of service they expect and certainly deserve. Central to our identity is the diversity of a team working together in a committed way to achieve a common goal.

Our goal is to provide our clients with the most reliable and honest work; the kind demanded by earnest decision-making. At all times, DREAM encourages every single one of its team members to embrace the challenges of an ever-changing world and in this way take active part in the shaping of our own future.

Core Values

DREAM is where tradition and modernity intersect to become one. DREAM people share an eclectic mix of values which guide the organization’s culture.

Picture the following and us you’ll get to know:

Unconventional thinking,

To face the hurdles in our path.

Digging deep into the core,

To grasp the essence of our lore.

As familiar to the uncertain, as fearless of the unknown,

Of DREAM people you’ve been warned!

Board of Directors

Carlo Bruni
Board Member & Co-founder

Prior to co-founding Dream, Mr. Bruni was a reservoir engineer with ENI E&P Division (formerly ENI Agip) where he gained over 30 years of experience. Mr. Bruni can truly be considered one of the pioneers of reservoir engineering. Always one step ahead, his work resulted in what would become today’s standard practices.  His visionary approach continues to be one of his basic drives. For over four decades he has virtually faced all possible issues associated with Petroleum Engineering: simulation, production optimization, and development strategy optimization for oil (heavy, light, and volatile) and gas (dry, and condensate) reservoirs. He has dealt with the performance of mature fields and with enhanced oil recovery methods and, in collaboration with others, has defined the criteria for performing laboratory PVT analysis and special core analysis. He has contributed to the technical evolution of the main commercial reservoir numerical simulation software products (Fragor, Eclipse, Sure) and is an expert user of these tools; he has also developed software to facilitate the processing of input and output data. Mr. Bruni has worked extensively on fractured reservoir characterization and numerical simulation (dual porosity and dual permeability models). He is also an expert in computer-aided history matching and treatment of uncertainties affecting oil and gas reservoirs.

DarioFDario Ferrero
Board Member & Co-founder

Mr. Ferrero has been the Managing Director of DREAM since 2004.

He graduated from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) in 2001 with a degree in Environment and Resources Engineering and a major in Petroleum Engineering. Soon after graduation he became involved with the oil & gas industry working up a particular interest for both gas field and storage-related studies. Over the years, his know-how has been constantly fine-tuned for optimal performance and effectiveness by every single project he has embarked on. Mr. Ferrero also spends part of his time as an instructor at the Petroleum Engineering Master’s program of his alma mater.

GiorgioGiorgio Giglio
Board Member & Co-founder

Mr. Giglio has served as President of DREAM since 2012.

Mr. Giglio has a Master’s Degree in Environment and Resources Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Italy). Upon graduation he immediately sought to refine his skills in reservoir engineering and simulation by taking the lead in different full field reservoir studies. Since then he has developed a keen eye for technical detail which has helped him tackle the array of complex problems which can arise in any given project. Furthermore, he draws on his managerial skills to understand, develop and deploy team members and their skills so as to select the best options to successfully carry out a project. He finds lecturing a good way of keeping “fit”.

He is a member of SPE and was the recipient of the 2003 SPE Cedric K. Ferguson Medal for the best peer-approved technical paper of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, “Validation of Near-Wellbore Fracture-Network Models with MDT” (2002).

QuintoQuinto Sacchi
Board Member & Co-founder

Dr. Sacchi has been the Head of the Geology & Geophysics Department at DREAM since 2004.

He was educated at the Università degli Studi di Torino (Italy) where he received his Master’s degree in Geology in 2002. Eager to put his skills to use, he immediately became involved with the oil & gas industry. For over a decade he has successfully carried out a diversity of project tasks – from static modelling to petrophysics – for clients in Italy and abroad. Complementary to his professional development has been his active involvement in research projects with recognized international institutions. He was awarded a PhD in Geo-resources and Geo-technologies from Politecnico di Torino (Italy) in 2011. Both his academic and industry experience has been pivotal in the training programs he organizes and delivers to companies worldwide, and teaching activities he carries out at Politecnico di Torino.

He is a member of EAGE and AAPG.
